They speak and sing and laugh and cry,
Through eyes they fly when the mouth goes dry,
They sleep when its time and often shout till sigh,
Like rain they fall from the bluest sky,
They hide on a date,
Gazing up the dinner plate,
Clinging on the things you ate,
Funny how they bait and run when it’s late,
They are the ones, who seldom die,
Still the ones time might defy,
Clowns are the fingers and their ally,
Performing the truth as well as the lie,
Empty spaces are their theaters thereby,
They amuse and wrench like an old school tie,
They are the shapes of minds and hearts,
Of everything that ends and starts.
